Northern Virginia Chamber, George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government, and NBC4 Announce 2018 Northern Virginia Senatorial Debate, Invite Candidates to Participate
Tysons, Va. – Today, the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce (Northern Virginia Chamber), George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government, and NBC4 Washington announced the Northern Virginia Debate featuring the two major party candidates for the Commonwealth’s 2018 United States Senate race. Invitations have been extended to Senator Tim Kaine (D) and Chairman Corey Stewart (R).
The 2018 Northern Virginia Debate will be presented on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in partnership with the Northern Virginia Chamber, George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government, and NBC4 Washington. Capital One will host the event at its headquarters in Tysons, Virginia.
Highly respected journalist and political commentator, NBC News Political Director and Moderator of Meet the Press, Chuck Todd, will moderate the debate, which will focus on the critical issues facing Virginia voters.

This contest will provide Chamber members the unique opportunity to see the candidates for United States Senate debate the issues that are critical to the future of our nation, our Commonwealth, and our region.”

Rozell, Dean of the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. “As Virginia continues to be at the center of the American political landscape, The Schar School is eager to continue the tradition of The Northern Virginia Debate and provide our region and our Commonwealth with a lively discussion of key public policy issues.”
The Debate will air live in prime time on NBC4 and will be made available to NBC affiliate stations statewide. The Debate will be streamed live on NBCWashington.com and the NBCWashington news app.
Registration will be available on the Northern Virginia Chamber’s website.
