1. Why do you believe CSR strategy is important for a company?
At Deloitte, we believe that we're only as good as the good we do. All the facts and figures that talk to our size and diversity and years of history, as notable and important as they may be, are secondary to the truest measure of Deloitte: The impact we make in the world. Having an authentic, compelling, and impactful CSR strategy is a critical part of being an anchor private sector institution in Northern Virginia and beyond.
2. Do you believe contributing back to the community allows your company to have a deeper connection with its clients/customers?
Absolutely. We aim to be the best at all that we do—whether that’s helping clients realize their ambitions, making a positive difference in society, or maximizing the success of our people. We see these goals as being inter-related…one and the same. This drive fuels the commitment and humanity that run deep through our every action.
3. What advice would you give to companies trying to participate in CSR?
Establish CSR as a foundation of your core values and beliefs. One of our 7 Core Beliefs is: “We believe in acting as responsible business citizens. We recognize that as individuals and as an organization, we must contribute to our communities and the larger business world in which we live and work.” Having this as a guidepost for all employees makes our CSR strategy and programming seamless and expected for employees, and meaningful for our external stakeholders.
