FAIRFAX CHAMBER RELEASES 2015 LEGISLATIVE AGENDA
Northern Virginia Business Community Focuses on Economic Vitality
Tysons Corner, Va. – The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (Fairfax Chamber) has released its 2015 Legislative Agenda outlining the Chamber’s positions on issues for the upcoming 2015 Virginia General Assembly session.
The 2015 Legislative Agenda summarizes the Chamber’s positions on issues critical to the future growth of the Northern Virginia economy. The Fairfax Chamber supports a pro-growth and pro-jobs legislative agenda that will elevate Virginia’s economy and ensure that the Commonwealth remains an attractive place to start and grow a business.
“The 2015 Legislative Agenda is the playbook for legislators in Richmond to follow to keep Northern Virginia, the economic driver of the Commonwealth, growing for years to come,” said Jim Corcoran, president and CEO of the Fairfax Chamber. “Even in a challenging budget environment, the Commonwealth needs to continue to attract and retain businesses and top talent in an increasingly competitive global economy.”
The legislative agenda includes the Chamber’s positions on key issues for businesses in Northern Virginia including transportation, education, right-to-work, public-private partnerships, privatization, health care, energy, and more.
“The Fairfax Chamber and its member companies stand ready to work with policymakers to develop fiscally sound policies and innovative solutions to ensure the region and the Commonwealth remain one of the best places in the nation to do business,” said Joe Vidulich, Vice President of Government Relations at the Chamber. “The Chamber is particularly focused on bolstering the economic development tools the Governor has at his disposal to bring new businesses and jobs to the Commonwealth.”
The Legislative Agenda was developed over the course of numerous meetings of the Chamber’s Policy Committee, whose membership spans the spectrum of Northern Virginia businesses.
