1. What is your mission and vision?
Apple FCU's mission as an organization is to improve lives and fulfill the dreams of its members and community. We believe this mission not only applies to the financial success of our members, but includes efforts to increase opportunities for those within the community; the vision.
2. How does your organization achieve its mission?
We achieve our mission through employee volunteerism and philanthropic support that includes partnering with community groups and leaders that share a corporate social responsibility philosophy.
3. How have your programs directly impacted the regional community?
During our annual food drive, we collected and donated over 2,100lbs. of non-perishable items to local
community groups such as Our Daily Bread, Food for Others, Blue Ridge Food Bank and Northern Virginia Family Services/SERVE. We also raised over $63,000 for the American Cancer Society for research right here in our community.
4. What inspires or drives your team to stay committed to your mission?
Hearing from other team members on their experiences volunteering and giving back inspires others and drives them to stay committed to the mission: "It is always rewarding to assist good causes for the community that we serve. Knowing that you’re helping out for a few hours could possibly change a day in someone’s life, is truly one of the best feelings ever." ~ Apple employee
5. What advice would you give to other nonprofits trying to make an impact in their community?
Establish an organizational culture of CSR, solicit feedback from employees, show value in investing in
CSR and remember the more you give, the more you receive.
